About

About Map Universalis

Map Universalis is an interactive province-based historical map inspired by the way grand strategy games represent the world.

The goal is simple:

Make exploring history as enjoyable as exploring a strategy game map.

Rather than looking at static historical maps, Map Universalis lets you explore provinces, countries, cultures and historical changes through time in an interactive way.

The project began as a personal tool for exploring Europa Universalis IV data, but the vision has grown beyond the game. The long-term goal is to build a community-driven platform for exploring historical geography.
